RugbyPA Mobility Volunteer Program - Raise funds for your club!

Volunteers will greet handicapped individuals arriving by bus, personal cars, vans and subway stations and assisting them to the Ben Franklin Parkway or other event destination. After assisting, volunteers will report to the Pennsylvania Convention Center for refreshments and possible re-assignment.

What Are The Benefits of Volunteering?

You get to represent your school, your club, your sport and yourself as someone willing to serve people who are less fortunate.

All Volunteers will receive a commemorative T-Shirt to wear during the event that identifies them as a Rugby PA volunteer who is there to assist disabled visitors.

PLUS RugbyPA will donate $50 to each volunteer's affiliated Club.

How Many Volunteers Do We Need?

We need to supply 250 Players and 20 Adults for both Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th.  Volunteers are expected to be present for both days.

Who Can Volunteer?

We need two types of volunteers: Players and Adults (Parents or Coaches).  Players will be the primary volunteers with the Adults acting mostly as supervisors and coordinators.

Player volunteers must be in their Sophomore Year or later (age 16 or older) to be eligible.

What Is The Schedule / Logistical Details For Volunteers?

Volunteers will be assigned specific reporting locations and times for both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday volunteer activities will run from 11:00am to 11:00pm.

Sunday volunteer activities will run from 6:00am to 8:00pm.

Volunteers will greet handicapped individuals arriving by bus, personal cars, vans and subway stations and assisting them to the Ben Franklin Parkway or other event destination. After assisting, volunteers will report to the Pennsylvania Convention Center for refreshments and possible re-assignment.

Do I have to be Catholic or religious to volunteer?

No.  The nature of this volunteer activity is a public service - not religious.  You will be helping disabled folks get around the city and you will not be required to participate in any religious activities.
