Fall rugby shifts into high gear this weekend as conference play gets underway around the nation. A number of high-profile matches are taking place as teams begin the quest for conference championships and an invitation to the second annual ACRC Bowl Series in Charlotte, N.C.
Clemson Plays Host on ACRL Opening Weekend
Defending ACRL champs Clemson jump into the fall with two home games this weekend: against Wake Forest on Friday and North Carolina Saturday. The Tigers have a new coach, Steve Lynch, and fresh faces with the graduation of several key members from last year's dominant team.
Villanova Meets St. Joes in Crosstown Keystone Match
The Main Line's two big Catholic universities are getting in some serious rugby before the visit of Pope Francis next weekend. Villanova travels down Lancaster Avenue to take on St. Joe's this Saturday at 7 p.m. on Hawk Hill.
Cornell Hosts Columbia for Homecoming
According to Cornell's Zach Jureller, "Keys to the match are really stretching the field and finding and exploiting Columbia's weaknesses." The match takes place Saturday at 1:00 PM during Big Red's homecoming and alumni weekend.

Reigning Southeast Rugby Conference champs South Carolina play SCRC rival Kentucky at home on Sept 19. Coming off of back-to-back Southeastern Rugby 15's Championships, Carolina Rugby looks to make it a three-peat this fall with a tough lineup of conference play.
St. Bonaventure Visits West Point
The Bonnies travel to West Point to play #5-ranked Army. The Black Knights, 1-0 in the Rugby East after a 48-0 win over Buffalo, hope to continue their winning ways against conference rival St. Bonaventure, who fell last week to Penn State.
