University at Albany

The University at Albany's Men's Rugby club was founded in 1974. The school is located in Albany, New York and consists of about 12,000 undergraduate students. In the past, UAlbany has competed in the ECRC but will join the newly formed Liberty Conference starting in the Fall of 2017 with many other SUNY schools. Although their Fall season is strictly 15's, the Spring season consists of more 7's and a few 15's games.

During the 2016-2017 seaon, the Great Danes were lead by Junior co-Captains Conor O-Brien and Clinton Olaniyi. Senior Greg Roche served as the president during this season. Their head coach is John Durant, who has been a part of UAlbany rugby for the past 40 years. The 2017 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s Tournament will be their first time attend this event and their first URugby tournament since the 2015 Empire Sevens Series in Stony Brook.
