Tournament Location

Once again. the Chris Munn Rugby 7s Tournament will will be played at Dog River Pitch at Norwich University's Sabine Field on Sunday April 29, 2018. All proceeds from the tournament, auction, and dinner will go to support the Chris Munn '81 Rugby Scholarship and Norwich Scrum Alums.

The goal of the tournament is to help endow the new rugby scholarship in honor of Chris Munn '81 and raise awareness of ALS. The scholarship was awarded for the first time in 2016 to two Norwich rugby student-athletes. 

The Chris Munn '81 Rugby Scholarship has been awarded the past two years. Overall, the group has raised over $76,000 in the scholarship during first four years of this event. The goal for 2018 is to reach $100,000.  Give now to this very important cause »

Weekend Events

Dinner & Auction on Saturday April 28 at 5:30 pm in the Milano Ballroom. 
The 7s Tournament on Sunday April 29 on Sabine Field will run throughout the day starting at 10 AM.

Chris Munn Sevens

The Chris Munn Sevens will feature many of the top men's and women’s collegiate teams from the eastern United States.

About Chris Munn

Chris played both rugby and lacrosse during his 4 years at Norwich (1977–1981) and served as captain of the Rugby Team his senior year.

Chris continued to play rugby with the various Army teams and club sides in Washington State while serving on active duty. After his distinguished military career, Chris retired from the Army as a Colonel. He then served as the Chief of Staff for the Mission Support Element at Fort Drum, New York. 

In 2013, Chris was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) a progressive, neurodegenerative muscular disease that is incurable. Today, Chris continues his personal fight against ALS and is dedicated to raising awareness of the disease.
