Inaugural NDC Falcons 7s Collegiate Challenge Cup

The inaugural NDC Falcons Collegiate Challenge Cup, which took place place Saturday, April 11, 2015,saw eight men's teams and four women's teams competing on two regulation synthetic surface fields at the beautiful campus of Notre Dame College. 

In the end it was BGSU beating St Bonaventure 31-17 in the final. BGSU beat Univ. of Buffalo 21-10 in one semi after going 3-0 in pool play. 

St Bonaventure beat NDC in the other semi, in what was probably the most exciting game of the day. NDC, after going through the pool play 3-0, went down 24-5 to a very strong St. Bona team, which lost a close game in pool play to BGSU. Midway through the second half, NDC found their stride and was able to tie the game on the final play of the game. 

NDC had a chance to win it, however the conversion sailed wide of the post as time expired, sending game into sudden death overtime.  

NDC received the ball in overtime and advanced the ball down the field, but a knock on at the St Bona goal line prevented them from ending the game. A penalty on the ensuing scrum against NDC gave the ball to St Bona, who got the ball around the corner of NDC's defense and went 80 meters for the game winning try. 

In Women's play it was NDC that was the class of the tournament as they went 4-0 on the day defeating OSU, Univ. of Mich, and Davenport twice, the second time in the final, where a determined Davenport squad gave NDC all they could handle as the final went to NDC 22-12.
