North American High School Rugby Sevens Series (NAHS7s)

NAHS7s TOURNAMENT CRITERIA

Each tournament must be ..

two-days in length
a maximum of 3 matches per day
a minimum of 5 matches guaranteed

Series points will be accumulated at each stop. Several point scenarios have been discussed. A final decision will be made before series launch.

NAHS7s TEAM REQUIREMENTS

For a team to be considered part of the series and to compete for the NAHS7s Cup, a team must:

Enter and compete in a total of three (3) NAHS7s-sanctioned events. (Teams will be incentivized to enter more than three (3) events)
Eligible teams MUST participate in identified “Core Tournament”

NAHS7s TEAM PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

For a team to be considered part of the series and to compete for the NAHS7s Cup, a team must enter and compete in a total of three (3) NAHS7s-sanctioned events. Teams will be incentivized to enter more than three (3) events.

The council is considering a process to approve five to six total NAHS7s tournaments for the 2016-17 NAHS7s season. Though the council will pre-approve NAHS7s tournaments, a tournament will not be officially NAHS7s sanctioned until a total of not less than 25% of the total NAHS7s teams have entered a NAHS7s-approved tournament (eg. 3 of 12; 4 of 16).

Suggested Tournament Stops to Date

WEST: San Diego, Victoria 7s, Las Vegas 7s, NAI7s (Utah)

EAST: Orlando, New York 7s, Magnificent 7s, Pennsylvania (CRC), Atlantic City or New Jersey shore town

CARIBBEAN: Bermuda, Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago
