East Meets Midwest: Kutztown and Indiana to Play in Charlotte

The Golden Bears of Kutztown have their sights on a Rugby East championship, but will embrace another exciting opportunity next month: the chance to test their mettle against the putative champs of the Big 10 Rugby Conference, mighty Indiana.

The Hoosiers’ 18-17 victory last week over Davenport underscores the deep talent of this team, sitting atop the Big 10 with an 4-0 record (8-0 overall) along with Ohio State. IU has been dominant this fall, their closest match before Davenport being a 53-23 win over Illinois, earning them a #2 slot this week in the Goff rankings.

Sitting just behind them at #3 is Kutztown, who would love to prove those positions should be reversed. Kutztown has racked up big wins so far this fall against Rugby East rivals Wheeling Jesuit, Iona and Stony Brook, and faces a key test this weekend against Army.
