UNC-Clemson Kick off ACRL Action Friday Night

Atlantic Coast Rugby League

ACRL Conference rivals  and  meet tonight in Chapel Hill, with Clemson hoping to improve on their 3-0 start. Clemson is looking to secure their automatic bid to the ACRC Bowl Series on November 21-22 in Charlotte, NC.

Despite losing to Virginia Tech to start the fall season, Carolina showed fortitude beating Virginia in week two and keeping the pressure on in a close 32-26 loss to Wake Forest last week. The Tar Heels stand at 1-2 in the middle of the ACRL pack.

Fall 2013 ACRL league champions Clemson, sitting at the top of the standings with Maryland, is coming off a 70-5 victory over NC State. The Tigers began the season blanking Virginia and Wake Forest (the latter in a power-failure shortened game) before allowing a lone try by the Wolfpack last week.

UNC will have to shore up defensively to hold off the likes of Clemson’s Aaron Keers, who scored 25 points all by himself against State with a try, two penalty goals and seven conversions.
