Every weekend's a big weekend on late October as college teams battle for playoff spots and a chance to compete at the ACRC Bowl Series in Charlotte on Nov. 20-21.
Gamecocks, Vols Seek SCRC East
South Carolina began their fall Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference schedule back in September against Georgia (see photo above). This Saturday, they play Tennessee with the East Division title on the line. The two winners of the conference semifinals will meet at the ACRC Bowl Series for the league championship; Georgia has also earned a bid to the Bowl Series.
Bonnies Battle NDC in Upstate Brawl
St. Bonaventure may be off the beaten path in upstate Cattaraugus County, New York, but the university has always known how to get attention. Lately, some of that attention has gone to to the rugby team—and for good reason. The Bonnies play another small Catholic college known for great rugby, Notre Dame College, Friday at 5 p.m.
Penn State Hosts Iona
Also on Friday, Penn State gets a crack at Iona, whose success has shaken up the Rugby East this fall in only their second year in the league. This game will decide whether Penn State still has a chance to be Rugby East champions. Can the Gaels upset the Lions the way they shocked Army?
Clemson Faces Challenge in Raleigh
Clemson's biggest challenge of the fall could well turn out to be their match Saturday against ACRL conference rival NC State. The Wolfpack, who beat Maryland and Wake Forest and played UVA to a tie, hope to usurp the unbeaten Tigers' claim to a conference title.

All Hallow's Eve in San Marcos will be a scream as the Texas State Renegades battle the University of North Texas in an important Southwest Conference game.
