Founded in 1998, the Furman Rugby Club is among the top small-college rugby programs in the nation. The Paladins have captured three national small college championships and have been runner-up twice.
The program has also collected five South championships and advanced to the Rugby South Final Four eight of the past ten years, a feat unmatched by any college team. The team presently competes in the Western Premier Division of the Southern Rugby Conference.
Founded by John Roberts and coached by Mike Miller, the Paladins are known for their well-drilled, passionate play and sportsmanship. Furman plays in a dedicated rugby stadium on a field named in honor of their founder.
