The Ohio State University Rugby Football Club was founded in 1966 by two physicians working at University Hospitals. Today the club is dedicated to a path of dynamic rugby in pursuit of the Midwest title and national championship.

The Buckeyes were founding members of the Big Ten Rugby Conference in 2012, competing in the Eastern Division against Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Indiana.

The OSURFC has had many Eagles come from its ranks. The Buckeyes have been coached by two Eagles (Parthmore, 1980-82 and Steve FInkel, 1988-91) and have had many players selected as All-Americans since the USARFU began naming an All-American squad in 1988.

Since it was recently announced that Rugby Sevens would be admitted into the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, We have also fielded a Sevens team that has competed in the Collegiate Rugby Sevens Championship Tournament twice.

The Ohio State Rugby Club has two full sized rugby fields located on campus, complete with lights and scoreboards. The Ohio State Medical Center provides the team with its dedicated medical staff that travels with the team to and from games as it travels across the country.
