Swarthmore College (W)

Swarthmore Women’s Rugby Club is a D3 team in southeastern Pennsylvania competing in the Small College-Division III of the EPRU. The team was founded in 1986 with an attitude that, “what’s important is not winning or losing the game, but winning or losing the party.” That said, they take themselves seriously on the pitch.

As Joan O’Bryan ’13, back captain, told the Swarthmore Daily Gazette a few years back, “We are known on campus as a really empowered and bad-ass group of girls, and the team has been involved in a bunch of other campus events in a really positive way.”
