ACRC Squads Take Home Silver and Bronze in Vegas

American Collegiate Rugby Championship squads American International College (East Coast) and St. Joe's (Keystone) emerged from the Cup finals with a second and third-place finish, respectively, at the Las Vegas Invitational over the weekend.

After defeating Lindenwood on Friday, AIC faced a determined ACRC foe St. Joe's in the Semifinal round. The Yellow Jackets would use all five subs in a victorious 31-22 effort over the Hawks. With the win, AIC met Arkansas State in the championship game in front of 30,000 people at Sam Boyd Stadium. "Fell to a deserving Arkansas State in the title match 10-19," AIC tweeted later that afternoon. "Heads held high."

But it was not over for the Hawks. After the Semifinal loss to AIC, St. Joe's took care of formidable foe Air Force with a 21-14 overtime win. The Zoomies had defeated Dartmouth and ACRC's Kutztown University (Rugby East) in pool play to earn a berth in the Final Four. With the win, the Hawks finished third overall with a 5-1 record.
