Notre Dame Wins ACRL Greenville Sevens

The first installment of the 2015 ACRL Sevens series same to Greenville, SC on Feb. 28 as Clemson played host to Wake Forest, Louisville, Furman, South Carolina, Ohio State. Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. 

Notre Dame won all three games in their tournament pool and advanced to the finals, where they took down Virginia Tech and claimed the program’s first major tournament win.

With game time temperatures in the low 20s, the Irish defeated Wake Forest Saturday morning in a shutout 26-0 win. In the second game, the Irish squared off against a tough Ohio State side, emerging with a 17-12 victory. Notre Dame prevailed against Furman 26-5 in the third game of the day.  

Notre Dame faced Virginia Tech in an extended, 10-minutes-per-half final. Led by sophomore Pat McMahon, the Irish prevailed over their ARCL rival 24-21.
