Penn State scored two tries late in the contest, but it turned out to be too little too late as the Nittany Lions fell short to Kutztown University by a final score of 36-28.

KU scored two first half tries to take a 17-7 lead into the turn. Jordan Ghyzel and Vetekina Malafu scored tries for the KU, with captain Niku Kruger converting both and adding a penalty.

Kutztown scored three tries to open the second half. Andrew DeColli, Ghyzel, and Trent Hensley all scored to bring the score to 36-14. PSU tries by Dan Metcalf and Selby Niumataiwalu brought the Lions back with still more than 10 minutes on the clock. Kutztown was able to hold on for the 36-28 win.

"PSU won the 1st half KU lucky to be ahead at the half. KU had to change momentum. We did that. Scored some tries. KU was lucky to win.," said head coach Gregg Jones.

PSU Alf Daniels commented after the hard fought match, "congratulations to Kutztown, they were physical and strong. They played a very good game."

Army defeated Buffalo 73-12 to bring their conference record to 4-0. Next week KU travels to West Point to determine the top team in the Rugby East Conference.
