Syracuse came out early scoring 2 converted trys, but Stony Brook came storming back with a dominating effort scoring four unanswered trys and holding on for the win. Phil Salter scored two of the four for the Seawolves. The Hammerheads mounted a comeback of their own closing to within five but Salter's third score of the day sealed the win for the Seawolves.
The Hammerheads two bonus points (four trys, within 7 points) keep the standings close in the Empire.
