Stony Brook Univ II

2019 is the first year that Stony Brook will send two teams to the Ariel Re Bermudas 7s.

Stony Brook continued their winning ways at the 2017 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s by defeating Iona College by a score of 12-7 in the Plate Final. They were also finalists at the 2016 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s in March, defeating the ever-strong Notre Dame College along the way.

Led by seniors Bryan Michel, Eric Rafferty and Rob Maloney, the Seawolves played well all weekend in Bermuda in 2017.

In the Fall of 2017, the Seawolves will be join the newly-formed Liberty Conference. The team hopes to continue the perennial success it enjoyed in the Empire Conference as it moves forward.

On November 19th, 2016, Stony Brook won their third straight Bowl Series game with a 29-12 victory over Rutgers University. With a 10-0 lead at halftime, the Seawolves came out in the second half strong scoring the first try 4 minutes into the second half.

The Seawolves were tops in the Empire Rugby Conference in Spring 2015 sevens play and had a very successful fall 2015 season, finishing undefeated in conference play. The Seawolves then played Cincinnati on Nov. 21 at the 2015 ACRC Bowl Series, defeating the Bearcats 36-14. Stony Brook University wrapped up their regular fall season on a high note in 2015, defeating the United States Merchant Marine Academy 78-5. The Seawolves offense outscored opponents 186-35 in their last three games. Stony Brook hosted Syracuse Men's Rugby on Nov. 7, 2015 for the Empire Rugby Conference Championship, falling to the Hammerheads 28-32 in an epic match.

Stony Brook Rugby were Fall 2014 Empire Conference champions, finishing the season undefeated (7-0).
