University of North Texas

The University of North Texas repeats as the champions of the Southwest Rugby Conference in 2015. Like the year before North Texas defeated Texas State 25-8 winning the Texas Cup and the nod to return to Charlotte for the 2015 @ACRCBowlSeries.

In 2014 North Texas claimed the title with a 32-15 win over Texas State on Nov. 1. The Mean Green finished the fall 2014 season with a 5-0 record and headed to Charlotte to play UMass on Saturday in the 4:30 match

Established in 1920, the official RFC of the University of North Texas currently competes in 15s and 7s rugby.

What key games, strategies or moments on the pitch define your Fall 2015 season?

Winning the Texas Cup by beating Red River Conference teams Texas Tech and Baylor to culminate in a final versus St. Edwards University.

Beating the Dallas Harlequins RFC in their pre-season opener.

Going undefeated (so far) in our SWC campaign.

What characterizes your style of play?

Quick transition from defense to attack and vice versa. Applying pressure to the opposition at all times. Excellent finishing of opportunities.

Who are your standout players?

Excellent ball carrier, defender, and lineout option.
