William A. Hough (HSB)

Hough Rugby is a new club rugby team playing at William A. Hough High School, as a part of the North Carolina High School Rugby Association.  Hough HS will take on North Mecklenburg High School to kick off the ACRC Bowl Series on Friday Nov 21st at 4:00pm.

While only in its second year, the Hough Rugby Club has already seen a promotion from Division II to Division I and a blossoming rivalry with rugby stalwart and near-neighbor North Meck. Hough went 6-3-1 in 2013-14.

Eight players came out for Hough's first-ever practice in December 2013. Playing in the NCHSRA Division II, the team had over 20 players for its first match in February. The first try in team history has scored by inside center Dalton Sherwood, with flyhalf Sam Neault notching the conversion.

With well over 30 players coming out for pre-season runs this fall, Hough is looking forward to having two full sides to compete in both A (Division I) and B (Division II) levels.
