Teams Converge Next Month For First-Ever Ariel Re Bermuda 7s


The Bermuda National Sports Center will play host to the Ariel Re Bermuda 7s March 18-19, and excitement is building on the islands for this high-profile rugby event. 

The Bermuda Tourism Authority estimates about 200 players and coaches, accompanied by friends and family, will fly in for the tournament. Three Ivy League programs (Yale, Dartmouth and Columbia) are among the fourteen college and high school rugby teams expected to participate. 

“Rugby 7s is a growing sport internationally and in Bermuda,” Michael Doyle of title sponsor Ariel Re said at a kickoff event. “… we look forward to showcasing the collegiate opportunities available to our young players if they continue to work hard in the classroom and on the field.”
