Kutztown Wins #ACRL7s - Raleigh

With rugby's return to the Olympics on the horizon, sevens rugby continues to pick up steam among college conferences eager to capitalize on the increased interest in the sport. This spring sees the return of the Atlantic Coast Rugby League (ACRL) Sevens Series and the debut of the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference (SCRC) Sevens Series. The SCRC is focusing on sevens rugby during its spring season for the first time in conference history. 

St. Joseph's University will host the St. Joe's Sevens this Saturday on the turf at Sweeney Field. The first match will kick off at 4 pm and matches will continue until 10 pm.

This tournament is a spontaneous creation of St. Joe's head coach Shags Yarusso to help a fellow program in a bind. An event this coming Saturday at Navy was canceled. When Coach Yarusso found out that the St. Bonaventure University rugby team had non-refundable tickets to play rugby this weekend, the plan was put in motion.
