American Collegiate Rugby Championships

There's a little bit of change in the ACRC Coaches Poll for this week. The top three of Kutztown, Penn State, and Army stay the same despite Army's win over Penn State earlier in the season. Army's close escape from Iona might be part of the reason, while PSU seems to be improving.

Gearing up for the American Collegiate Rugby Championships Bowl Series in Charlotte, N.C., there’s a lot of tight competition in college conferences around the country. The performance of top teams in each league will determine who gets an official invite to the elite series at the Rugby Athletic Center in North Carolina’s Queen City on Nov. 21-22.

If the season ended today, 16 teams from eight conferences plus independents would meet in Charlotte as per the following breakdown of invitations. Invitations will be based on conference performance as well as strength of schedule.

American Collegiate Rugby Championships

Clemson soundly defeated North Carolina 69-0 Friday evening to lead. The win puts Clemson on top of the ACRL and in great shape moving towards the ACRC Bowl Series on November 21-22 in Charlotte, NC. Atlantic Coast Rugby League has committed their top two teams to the Bowl weekend.

Keystone Rugby Conference

In @Keystone_Rugby conference The @TempleU_Rugby Owls soundly defeated @WCUramsRugby Rams today by a final score of 68-22.

Empire Rugby Conference

Stony Brook controlled Kings Point (United States Merchant Marine Academy) throughout the contest taking an early lead and scoring all of their four tries in the first half and holding on in the second for a 30-12 victory. The win puts Stony Brook on top of the Empire Conference and in great position for the ACRC Bowl Series on November 21-22 in Charlotte, NC.

Atlantic Coast Rugby League

ACRL Conference rivals  and  meet tonight in Chapel Hill, with Clemson hoping to improve on their 3-0 start. Clemson is looking to secure their automatic bid to the ACRC Bowl Series on November 21-22 in Charlotte, NC.

Keystone Rugby Conference

St. Joseph’s and West Virginia remain atop the Keystone Conference, while Pitt is just one game back.

Rugby East Conference

Kutztown University remains atop the ACRC Coaches Poll, and while there are a few shifts in this week's ballot results, for the most part the top ten has remained in the top ten.
